What Does Your Amazon Cart Look Like These Days?

I am so excited to receive my goodies!  I am obsessed with cookbooks, and after a recent review from Celeste over at Honk If You’re Vegan, I was compelled to also challenge my doubts and pick up Proof of Heaven.

Do you already own any of these books, or maybe the julienne peeler?  What are your thoughts on them?  I would love to read your comments…

  1. Yea! I’m so glad you got “Proof of Heaven” Sophia. I can’t wait to hear what you think of it. I haven’t read any of the other books, but I’ve been wanting to read “The Kind Diet” and “Veganomicon”. You’ll have to let us know what you think of those too so I can decided if they’re worth the money. When do you ever find time to read all these books girlfriend? Celeste 🙂

    • Will definitely let you know about Proof of Heaven. As for the rest, Celeste, I say all the time, I literally do not have enough hours in the day for everything, hence I hardly get any sleep! It’ll take me a while to get through them, but I love having them in my library. I have a lot of time off in September too, so I plan on RELAXING and READING! 🙂

  2. I don’t own the julienne peeler – but I did buy this one – works like a charm! http://www.amazon.com/J-A-Henckels-Twin-Pure-Peeler/dp/B002G9UHN8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1377273202&sr=8-1&keywords=Zwilling+J.A.+Henckels+Pure+Peeler%2C+Stainless-Steel

I also bought the Rosle Julienne Peeler from Williams Sonoma. It’s on amazon 😉
Works great, but to get a good cut with thicker sides, it requires some pressure. I’m always worried I’ll hurt myself and often resort to cutting everything julienne-style by hand.

“The Hormone Diet” sounds like a book that I read by jillian michaels “Master Your Metabolism” (she’s not vegan by any means, but bringing about the fact that hormone imbalances have an impact on weight gain and weight loss is a cool find, and honestly she has really great points). I wonder if they’re similar?

    • Hello! Yes, I have to agree I usually end up cutting everything julienne-style by hand as well. Thanks for letting me know which ones you have, I’ll let you know how this one works out!
As for the Hormone Diet, I bought it because I have PCOS and the amazing author Jae Steele recommended I look into Dr. Natasha Turner’s books. She is a naturopath in Toronto…
I am hoping it sheds more light on adopting a hormone-balancing diet. I will let you know how it goes!
      Sophia 🙂

  3. I have Alicia’s The Kind Diet. I love it! It was my first vegan book that I bought a few years back. When I first got it some of the ingredients were strange, but I tried a few things and they are now more normal to me. She is a great inspiration of mine as well 🙂
